Texans cant Clip the Eagles: Another Loss

More than five years after winning his first start at what is now called NRG Stadium, Mark Sanchez returned to Houston on Sunday as a comeback quarterback, coming off the bench to throw for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles 31-21 win over the Texans.
Houston’s defense knocked out Philadelphia starter Nick Foles with a shoulder injury on the last play of the first quarter, but Sanchez kept coach Chip Kelly’s attack running at maximum efficiency against a Texans secondary that played without two starters and a front seven that at times was slowed by the Eagles’ quick pace to a hands-on-hips crawl.
With the Cowboys’ loss Sunday to the Cardinals, the Eagles at 6-2 hold a half-game lead over Dallas for first place in the NFC East. The Texans, after winning three of their first four, are 4-5 entering their bye week
“We really believe that we are close,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. “We’re still certainly not out of anything. It’s a disappointed locker room, but we have a lot of games left. We need to figure out what type of spark we need.”
